TALENT COMPETITON FOR STUDENTS TO BE PART OF THE MUSICAL CLASSROOM

As part of La Reunion Golf Resort and Residence's Social Responsibility Program, on Saturday, June 4th, a talent contest was held for students of the Escuela Oficial Rural Mixta Caserio El Porvenir (Official Rural Coed School of the town of El Porvenir) to integrate the musical classroom. The music instructor interviewed students of second, third and fourth grades and ran a series of tests in audio, rhythm and movement and musical abilities to determine their skills and musical abilities. Out of the group, 21 were chosen to play the marimba, eight girls and six boys to play percussion instruments and for melodic rhythm, five girls and two boys.

The participants were satisfied and interested in the tests the teacher performed in movement synchronization, rhythmical sequences and marimba mallets.

The classes will be held Thursday and Friday afternoons and Saturday and Sunday mornings.
